Blog 005 - Marketing
Jacob HarrisWhen someone asks me what is the hardest part of running Thomas Adams the first thing that pops into my head is marketing. Why? It is very complex. Over the last few years, we have tried many different avenues for marketing. The first avenue we tried was paying for ads via social media platforms. Every platform will give you an idea of many impressions you will get on your post based on how much money you spend. For example, if I spend $100 on an ad over a week then about 10,000 people will see it. You run the ad, get the results and guess what, 10,00 people did see it, but nobody made a purchase and the website sessions barley increased. How does that make any sense? Are the impressions not legit? I honestly have no idea, but you can imagine how frustrating that is. They want you to spend money on ads, but the conversion rate is horrible. I can't imagine how much money big companies put into their ads in order to get more and more people to their website. We have tried this on Tik Tok, Facebook and Instagram. We have looked at ways to make our presentation better to get more clicks and the results just aren't there. If anyone has any suggestions that aren't going to break the bank let me know!
The second avenue we tried and that we still do are in person pop ups. This has been great. Once someone sees the product in person and is able to see the quality of the products then that is where the magic happens. In person events are truly a blast because you get to interact with customers and tell them the story of who we are and what we do. I would love to do more and more events like this throughout the year.
The last item which is what we are about to try really for the first time is email marketing... I don't have any feedback on that yet... will keep you updated, but I have high hopes!!
Obviously if you have any ideas, let us know!! Marketing isn't for the weak!
Talk soon.
